Zentangle

What Is Zentangle?

Zentangle is an easy-to-learn, fun and relaxing way to create beautiful art using various patterns. Maria Thomas and Rick Roberts were the first creators of zentangle in 2004 when Maria described to Rick how she drew background patterns on a manuscript she was creating and felt feelings of timelessness, freedom, and well-being. Rick stated that what she was describing sounded like meditation. They worked to create a similar system so others could enjoy a similar experience.

Materials Needed and How to Start.
Zentangle is a no-erase art that inpires you to branch off your mistakes and create something brand new. That doesn't mean you can't use an eraser, but it is suggested that you try to keep going without the need to get rid of things. Usually for this type of art, non-bleed pens and micron pens are suggested. They create a neat line and wont seep into other close designs.
