Dirt bikes

Dirt bikes started to be sold more in dealerships and made more in factories in the 1970's when supercross was invented. As the public started to see more and more riders the public also satarted buying dirt bikes and riding them. Those early dirt bikes were a rough ride with the suspension they had so most riders tryed to leave little air in the tires. Some of the early dirt bike brands were Bultaco and Maico.

By the 1980's and 90's dirt bike company were making bigger and faster dirt bikes. Honda had their successful XR and CR line. Yamaha had their YZ and YFZ line.Suzki had their DR and RM line. Kawasaki had their KDX and KX. Dirt bikes were be coming faster for example Honda's two stroke CR500, Kawasaki's two stroke KX500 and the ATK Intimidator 700 2 stoke. KTM was not a company until 1993 but one of their first bikes that they made was the 300 2 stroke dirt bike that everybody wanted.

By the 2000's the big 500cc dirt bikes started not to be made anymore. 2001 was the last year that the CR500 was made. A lot of companys started to not make 2 strokes for example Honda stop making their CR125 and CR250, Kawasaki stop making all 2 strokes except for their KX85 and 65 and Suzki stop making all 2 strokes. Honda made thier CRF line that they still have. Yamaha still has their YZ and YFZ line and KTM is still making 2 strokes.

Now in 2019 dirt bikes have gotten many technological advances. A lot of them are coming from the factorie with fuel ingection instead of having a carb. A lot of companies today have 4 and 2 stroke endure bikes. Yamaha, KTM, and Husqvarana are the only companies that are still making 2 stroke 250's and the only companies that are making 2 stroke 150's. Honda has there CRF150 that is a four stroke bike but in my opinion the bike is slow but it can still haul me around no problem.

When it comes to dirt bikes there are 2 different types of bike, four stroke and two stroke. Two strokes are more for racing and for four strokes are more for trail riding but in some cases you can use them for what ever track riding, trail riding etc. Four stroke bikes have that power right off the bat but two stroke power is different it hits a certin point while riding that it just wants to wheelie. What makes them different though is that four strokes have four strokes per revilution and two strokes have two per revilution.

So finnaly the time has come to talk about my dirt bike that I had and rode the most a 1987 Honda XR250R. Now I know that all of you that are reading this is thinking 1987 is old but for that year bike it had all the power I needed. The reason for me selling the bike is because compared to the new bikes it was slow and beat up. The XR250R is a trail riding bike that has a light on it and a tool pouch on the back fender. But even though it was a trail bike I still brought it to different tracks and rode.
