WWII D-Day

D-Day also known as Doomes Day and the code-name was Operation Overlord . D-Day was on Tuesday, June-6-1944 . 156,000 Americans , Canadian , and British was going to invade Normandy Beach . There was a 50 mile strech. There where 5 diffrent beaches, Juno, Gold, Utah, Omaha , and sword . once deploed all hope was gone. Gun fire all over the place and just over all destruction .

This is a picture of one for the boats that they would ride in. in the front there was a wall so that if the Germens started to open fire they would still have cover if they where still in the boats .

During WWII on D-Day , the Americans , British , and the Candaians did this so that we can push the Nazi's away from France . So the idea was to push them back by invading Normandy . The plan was get on the beach and get to cover and give them every thing you got . At the end of it there where a totle of 25,000 Americans , Canadian , and British troops where dead , 10,000 injured and 4,000-9,000 Germens troops died . More then half a million foreign-born veterans living in the USA and close to 10,000 non citizens enlist in the US military each year .
