Horse Tips |
Most people give their horses way to much food (which is why they get fat) what they should really get is 3/4 of a quart of grain in the morning like at 8:00 and as soon as they are finished they get one flake of hay then at noon they get one more flake then at dinner time (5:30-6:00) plus 3/4 quart of grain |
Grooming your horse is a great way to bond with your horse. Most people use 4 common brushes: curry comb; a round brush with multipul contact points and you use it in a curculer motion to remove loose hair. Hard brushes; are a wooden base with stiff waxed string and you follow the hair line to give a smooth over coat. Face brushes: which are a smaller version of hard brushes but used to brush away dibrese. Maine and tail brush; it is used to brush ot the maine and tail. |
Riding your horse is another great way of bonding. There are a 4 main ways to ride a horse which are: walk which is exactly what it sounds like. Trot(troting is basically jogging) there are two ways posting trot which is going up and down on the sattle(mostly used in English) and there is a sitting trot which is sitting in the sattle when the horse is troting(mostly used in western). Cantering is like running for horses and the rider sits while the horse canters. Finally galloping which is like sprinting for horses the same as cantering you sit. |
Space is very important for horses because they are huge beautiful creatures. The correct size pasture for a horse is 20 by 20 mabey a little bigger for a pony it all depends on size. A pony the size of a small horse 18 by 20 an the other hand a shetland could go for 15 by 20. |
People have the hardest part for owning horses they have to be capable of exersizing, mucking stalls, feeding, watering stuff like that;the basics. You have to be capable of doing all these things. If you don't have the money nor the time your horse could face abuse. |
